Smart Money Magazine names Colorado Springs #6 of 25 cities in country ready to rebound

The latest issue of Smart Money magazine named Colorado Springs as one of its top 25 cities with housing markets ready to rebound, out of 386 metro areas considered.  Colorado Springs ranked as number six, behind number one Albuquerque and ahead of other cities like Columbia, South Carolina; Dallas, and Denver (numbers 7 through 9, respectively).

Smart Money lists Colorado Springs as one of the top cities to rebound due to the more realistic appreciation of 21.3% from 2002-2007, compared to the national market that boomed to a 40.5% price change in that same time span. This means that values weren’t inflated beyond historic norms to nearly the extent that they were in many areas, and likewise didn’t suffer setbacks to the same extent either.
